Data Scientist at Teleperformance
My name is Ashish Roy and I hail from Bangalore. I started learning Data Science while still working at Dell Technologies. I used to attend classes. After discovering my passion for Data Analytics, I did not let the exhaustion from work deter me from learning Data Science. Among several passions that I hold, learning new things and upgrading myself is my favourite one of all. I am not bragging but my teachers and co-workers used to appreciate me a lot.
After completing my bachelors from BBA, I pursued MBA for my higher education and bagged a job at Amazon. It was not late when I switched to Dell Technologies. I used to admire the officials there involved in Analytics and wanted to have similar respect for myself.
I did not consider the idea of a job change until it was too late. Thankfully, the advertising for Business Toys grabbed my eye when I was browsing the web. I decided to give online certification courses a try after learning about them. I received a clear picture of what to expect from the online data science course after obtaining good assistance from the BT consultant. Something I simply intended to give a try a few years ago has now turned into my passion!
Business Toys has been an amazing experience for me. Data Science is a field in which I started off as a complete newbie and now I have a good grip over the modules taught in this course. I am skilled in SQL, Python, and Tableau now. My mentors have been of great help to me in starting off my career in Data Science. Career transition is not easy but through the right kind of guidance that I sought, I gained a lot of confidence besides all the knowledge and skills. As a person, I believe it is very important to do what you are interested and passionate about, and I can say with 100% conviction that hard work is equally important for the same.
I would like to give a huge shout out to the mentors who helped me tremendously. Omkar, Mani, Vasista, and Vaibhav helped me greatly in different fields. They helped me so much, especially during the placement. I have always reached out to them for my doubts and was always helped without any delay. I would receive so many company profiles from them. Initially, it was a bit difficult to crack these companies. But the team comforted me and told me to just keep trying without losing hope, and I am finally here waiting for my offer letter from Teleperformance.
I got placed at Teleperformance as a Data Scientist. With rigorous training, I was exceptionally skilled in SQL, which is the reason I got selected here. My 1 on 1 coaching sessions have proven very beneficial in helping me get this role. The selection process involved multiple steps. I underwent an aptitude round, post clearance of which I was given an assignment to complete as a part of the shortlisting process. I was given a deadline of two days to submit the same and I gave every ounce of my energy, knowledge and dedication to it. My happiness had no bounds when I was approached for the third round where I was asked to explain my assignment. The recruiters were really happy with the way I took over and complemented that my presentation was beyond their expectations. I was very sure at that point that the job was already mine and so it happened. I would say, Business Toys placement assistance was really helpful.
I am happy to have taken this course at Business Toys. It has really helped me see a bright future for myself. In the next 5 years, I see myself working as a manager at a great package. I want to grow exponentially.
